LAW3045   Legislatures and Legislative Processes   (20 credits)

Year Running: 2016/2017
Credit level: F6
Pre-requisites   LAW139

Description

The module aims to develop knowledge and understanding of how legislatures and legislative processes operate, drawing on theoretical, empirical and comparative literatures. The module will enable students to situate this understanding within the broader constitutional context of relations between legislatures, executives and courts and, more generally, politics and law. Students will reflect on how understandings of legislatures and the legislative processes shape responses to some of the enduring questions in constitutional law (e.g. questions about the proper role for and limits on judicial review).
